Ministries of NORTHWOOD

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
God calls parents to raise their children in the wisdom and admonition of the Lord, but parents aren't intended to do this alone. Northwood assists parents in their responsibility to help their children grow in their understanding of the gospel and their love and affection for Jesus through three opportunities each week:
- Junior Church: Halfway through our Sunday morning worship service children 3 years old through 5th grade are dismissed for interactive activities and a Bible Lesson taught at their level.
- Sunday School: Following our Sunday morning worship service we have a class for children 3 years old through 2nd grade, and another for 3rd through 5th grade to deepen their understanding of the fundamentals of the faith.
- Awana: On Wednesday nights children from age through through 5th grade meet from 6:30-8:00p.m during the school year for A.W.A.N.A., which stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” During this time children enjoy a game time, memorize Scripture, and learn more about God through devoted leaders.

Small Groups
We believe that Christian community is not an option for believers. Small groups provide an opportunity for the Northwood family to gather in smaller settings in order to share life together, to pray together, and to encourage one another to serve the Lord.
