Ministries of NORTHWOOD
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
God calls parents to raise their children in the wisdom and admonition of the Lord, but parents aren't intended to do this alone. Northwood assists parents in their responsibility to help their children grow in their understanding of the gospel and their love and affection for Jesus through two opportunities each week:
- Junior Church: Halfway through our Sunday morning worship service children 3 years old through 5th grade are dismissed for interactive activities and a Bible Lesson taught at their level.
- Awana: On Wednesday nights children from age through through 5th grade meet from 6:30-8:00p.m during the school year for A.W.A.N.A., which stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” During this time children enjoy a game time, memorize Scripture, and learn more about God through devoted leaders.
STUDENT Ministry
Northwood's Student Ministry exists to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ by reaching teens who don't know Him, encouraging those who do, and equipping all of them to love, serve and live for Him. 6th through 12th graders are welcome year round on Wednesday nights. While our meeting format changes occasionally, students can expect a fun, casual atmosphere to study, discuss, and apply Scripture as well as worship, play, and hang out together.
Small Groups
We believe that Christian community is not an option for believers. Small groups provide an opportunity for the Northwood family to gather in smaller settings in order to share life together, to pray together, and to encourage one another to serve the Lord.
